Enviro-Chem Management Team Completes the Purchase of the Company from Monsanto
On August 8, 2005 the management team of Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems, Inc. successfully completed the purchase of their company from Monsanto. MECS, Inc. will be the new company's name. The existing management team of Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems, Inc. will continue operational control of MECS. Inc. This transition is intended to be completely seamless and transparent from a commercial perspective. While our company name will be slightly different, much will be the same. Our customers, suppliers, consultants and independent representative sales agencies will be interacting with the same group of people worldwide be they in sales, technical service, engineering, production, procurement or integrated logistics. As a separate company, MECS will have a sharper focus and strengthened resolve to continue delivering the highest quality processes, technologies, services and personal relationships to our customers worldwide.
Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems Inc. was formed, as a wholly owned subsidiary, by Monsanto Company in 1969 through a consolidation of several existing process technology, product and services businesses, some of which were established as early as 1917. As a result, the new MECS Inc. is built on a heritage of nearly 100 years in assisting customers to achieve added value in their process operations. During recent years, Monsanto Company's business direction has shifted almost exclusively towards the agriculture and seeds businesses. Therefore the transition of MECS, Inc. to a new ownership structure, independent of Monsanto, makes good sense for all stakeholders. |
